This website shows the catalogue of Akshara Books, an independent bookstore at Plot 60A, Road 70, Journalist Colony, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad 500033, and lets you ask about a book, reserve it for pickup, request a book we do not list, and join our newsletter.

Nothing is sold, paid for or delivered through this website. Books are collected and paid for in the store.

Prices are shown in Indian rupees and stock as “in stock”, “only a few left”, “out of stock” or “available on request”. We update these as carefully as a small store can, but the shelf changes through the day and publishers change prices. The price and availability the store confirms with you on WhatsApp or at the counter are the ones that apply. A listing on this website is not an offer to sell at that price.

Book descriptions, cover images and details such as page counts come from publishers and public catalogues and may contain mistakes. Tell us if you spot one.

• Reserving a book means asking the store on WhatsApp to hold a copy for you. It is a request, not a purchase, until the store confirms it.
• The store will tell you how long the book will be held. If it is not collected in that time, it goes back on the shelf.
• The store may decline or limit a reservation, for example for very low stock, and will say so.

If you request a book we do not have, we will check our shelves and suppliers and tell you whether we can get it, at what price and how long it will take. A request is free and carries no obligation on either side until you and the store agree on an order. Some books cannot be sourced; we will say so rather than leave you waiting.

The newsletter is occasional email from the store about new arrivals and staff picks. You can unsubscribe from any email, or by writing to aksharabooks@gmail.com. How we look after your address is described in our privacy policy.

Please do not:

• send false or abusive requests, or use someone else’s name or number;
• try to break, overload or scrape the website, or get into the store’s admin area;
• copy the catalogue or the site’s design for another business.

The Akshara Books name and logo, and the words and design of this website, belong to Akshara Books. Book covers, titles and descriptions belong to their publishers and authors and are shown here only to describe what the store sells. You may share links to any page; that is what they are for.

The site links to WhatsApp, Instagram and Google Maps. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

We provide this website as it is, free of charge, and try to keep it accurate and available. We cannot promise it will always be error-free or online. To the extent the law allows, Akshara Books is not liable for loss arising from your use of the website or from reliance on a price or stock note shown on it. Nothing here limits rights you have under Indian consumer law that cannot be limited.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute belongs to the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana.

We may update these terms as the website changes; the date at the top tells you when. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
